Not just for laying carpet… By Victor H. Agresti Roberts Carpet Tools 10-955 Extendible Floor Roller
Having the word “carpet” in this tool’s name implies that it’s for carpet only, which isn’t the case. I’ve had one for 10 years but never used it for carpet. For example, I recently built a small outdoor tool shed which was to have a shingle roof. I first covered the roof plywood with Grace Roof Membrane, a 1/16″ thick rubberized sheeting that is very sticky on one side once the waxed paper is removed. Press it in place, and to get all the bubbles and creases out, a heavy duty roller is a must; which this tool definitely is. I’ve also used the roller for smoothing out wall-paper, installing non-ceramic tiles, and many odd jobs.
The extendible handle has an all metal mechanism that holds without coming un-extended on its own. The thick aluminum handle directly over the three large rollers is very strong. The roller “axle” is strong enough to not bend under my firm pressing, and I’m a big guy.
Although it isn’t used very often, it’s nice to have this excellent tool in the shop when nothing else will do.

great for small jobs and occasional use By Generic Reviewer I used this to put linoleum flooring in my kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and entry closet over the course of 2 years. If I had needed it more often, I would have gotten a bigger one. It works well for getting in tight corners, small spaces, and closets. You do need to put a bit of pressure on it but since I sit in an office all day, I consider home improvement projects good exercise. The first bathroom I did, I used a kitchen roller (you know the kind you use for rolling dough).

Nice for small jobs, i.e. bathrooms and small kitchens. By J. Shultz Might want a standup roller for larger jobs, but reasonable price for what it does. Collapsible handle is a nice, well designed, feature. Tough construction too.
